Every Monday · Robina
Group classes
Cuban salsa and Rueda de Casino, every Monday night. No membership, no booking, no partner required – and complete beginners can start on any Monday.

Before you decide
What a Monday night actually looks like
You arrive at Robina Community Centre. Somebody says hello and takes your $15, cash or card. You put your bag down at the side of the room.
The class starts with the basic step, on your own, facing the front. Then you pair up. You will not be choosing a partner and you will not be stuck with one: we rotate the whole way through, so over an hour you dance with everybody in the room. That is not an icebreaker, it is how the dance is taught. Cuban salsa is improvised rather than choreographed, so leading and following somebody you have never met is the actual skill.
At 7:30pm the rueda class starts. Couples form a circle, one person calls the next move, and everybody changes partners at the same moment. It is open level, it is chaotic in the best way, and somebody always goes the wrong way. Usually more than one somebody.
If you would like the first fifteen minutes written out before you commit to them, we have done that: what happens at your first class.
Where to find us
