Nikoletta and Stephen have 30+ combined years of teaching, and have performed and competed at national and world championship level – winning multiple Australian championships, and in 2015 they placed 4th in the world in Denmark.

Competition is not what our Monday nights are about, but it is why the rueda we teach is the real thing. Cuban Soul performs regularly at events around Australia. Performance training by invitation only.

Never danced before?

The honest answers to what most people ask us before their first Monday.

I don’t have a partner
No partner required. Many students attend alone, and partners rotate through the class.
I have never danced before
Beginners are welcome any Monday at 6:30pm. There are no fixed intake dates.
Do I need to book?
No booking required for group classes. Just come along.
Will everyone else know more than me?
The salsa class includes a beginner level.
Am I too old?
Adults across a broad age range attend.
I’m not coordinated
No prior skill or coordination required.
Do I need to speak Spanish?
No. Classes are taught in plain English. The music and the rueda calls are in Spanish, so you will pick up a few words by accident.
Do I need dance shoes?
No formal footwear requirement. Comfortable clothing and shoes that allow safe movement.
What does it cost?
First class is $15 for new students, then $25 for a single casual class. Class passes never expire.
How do I pay?
Cash or card at the door, or buy a class pass online. There is no membership and passes never expire.
