Nikoletta and Stephen have 30+ combined years of teaching, and have performed and competed at national and world championship level – winning multiple Australian championships, and in 2015 they placed 4th in the world in Denmark.
Competition is not what our Monday nights are about, but it is why the rueda we teach is the real thing. Cuban Soul performs regularly at events around Australia. Performance training by invitation only.

Common questions
The honest answers to what most people ask us before their first class.
- I don’t have a partner
- No partner required. Many students come alone, or with a group of friends. Partners rotate through the class.
- I have never danced before
- Beginners are welcome any Monday at 6:30pm. There are no fixed start dates.
- Do I need to book?
- No booking required for group classes. Just come along and register at the door.
- Am I too old?
- Definitely not. Adults of any age are welcome, and students in our community are across a broad age range.
- I’m not coordinated
- No natural skill or coordination required. We will teach you everything you need.
- How long does it take to learn salsa?
- You will dance in your first class. Most people can hold their own socially after a few months of Mondays, and there is no point at which you are finished, which is most of the appeal.
- Do I need to speak Spanish?
- No. Classes are taught in clear, fluent English. The music and the rueda calls are in Spanish, so you will pick up a few words.
- Do I need dance shoes?
- No. Just wear comfortable clothing and shoes that allow safe movement.
- What does it cost?
- First class is $15 for new students, then $25 for a single casual class, or buy a class pass to save.
- How do I pay?
- Cash or card at the door, or buy a class pass online. There is no membership and passes never expire.
- How do I find the class?
- Robina Community Centre is across from Robina Town Centre, with a free carpark right outside in front of Robina Library. We are in the Activity Room, to your right as you walk in the main entry.
Not sure what a first class is like? We have written it out in full, from the car park to the first song, and you can see what to wear.
